Re: headers and emissions

Some people will tell you yes, but the emissions stations are not supposed to pass you if you do not have your complete A.I.R. system intact. The entire system only robs around 1 0r 2 hp. You can modify your headers to include your A.I.R. system: simply weld your original Tubes to the headers.
Good luck!

Re: headers and emissions

i wasnt concerned with powerloss much. its just that headers with the tubes and a cat with the hookup a far more pricey than those without. plus it looks better under the hood without them. smog pump can be removed with air injection system right? i am definately stil running a cat

Re: headers and emissions

You need to keep the pump to pass emissions (Visual inspection) Again, some will tell you that you can get rid of the pump and still pass the visual, but the inspectors are not supposed to pass a car with any of this system removed. I have seen a few headers that look ok with the A.I.R. tubes (SLP and Edelbrock T.E.S. come to mind) If the car isnt your daily driver, you can get Collector insurance and avoid the smog requirements altogether.

I running these headers since 2 years now, you really need to know what to look for to see the air tubes on these headers.

Re: headers and emissions

For what it's worth, you only have to run AIR tubes on one side.
