The July issue of Roddin & Racing is out and my Camaro is on the cover along with another 3rd gen Camaro. The pic is from the Super Chevy Show in Tucson last April, I won three awards "Best Camaro" "Best in Class" and "Editors Pick", I also got a cool Super Chevy jacket for the best Camaro award. Here's the cover shot, mine is the red Z and my friend Rod owns the clean white Z28......it's good to see 3rd gens get some attention!!.........Frank Hosted on Fotki
Thanks guy's!!....that picture ends a chapter of my Camaro's look, right after that show I took it all apart, sold the hood, gutted the interior, changed the wheels, uprade the roll cage, added a fuel cell, lexan windows, aluminum door panels, full aluminum dash....etc. I'm really excited about my new hood but can't show it yet, it's being molded in fiberglass at the moment...the whole car is still under constuction right now in my garage and I hope to have it ready by september after I repaint it, I'll post pic's soon........Frank
Can't wait to see the latest addition of the Camaro!! Are you going to keep it red? I hope you considered upgrading to 16 inch wheels. You have a lot more brake package options. You always do great work Frank so I know it will look even cooler then before!!
Thanks guy's!!......I'm gonna stay with 15's since that is what my suspension/springs/ride height is set up for. My new American Racing wheels are really light weight compared to the old 2nd gen steel wheels I had. As far as the upgrades go, well I don't want to show any pic's yet but I'll give you a hint as what I'm going for....lol......Frank Hosted on Fotki
I know someone who has one of those for sale in virginia. Think he wants 4,000 for it. (No motor or trans) If i remember correctly it was one of Ernhardts cars. Didnt look like it would be too hard to make it street legal, with collector insurance, of course.
Yeah I have always wanted to do a replica race car too and I'm finally going to do it. I noticed in the magazines lately that a few people had built some Nascar street cars that look cool, decals and all. So far my biggest challenge has been the hood, because the real Iroc race cars had functional louvers and the center section of the hood was slightly raised higher. I had to make mine a little higher because of my engine height, but it still looks like the Iroc hood but taller. I had to use two Iroc hoods to do this, the center of one was cut out and welded on top of the other with new sides made. It's now a 3 inch iroc hood. I'm almost done with the master so I can mold it in fiberglass. Once I prime it I'll post some pic's..................Frank
