meh, my 83 was better then all of yours combined XD

but yea, no camaros for me. i kept my girl for a reason and I cant put firebird rims on a camaro, it be sacrilege!

but less then 100k miles on a 25 year old car is great, i also hate autos and i can put my 4.11 rear end on it as well.

Re: another one bites the dust

OK guys!

i think i found one i like.

1988 TransAm GTA. 350 fuel injected V8 4speed auto posi rear end with the 16in gold snowflake rims

red with Ttops, leather interior (front seats ripped and faded but have seat covers and rear seats are in great condition) headliner, ttop weatherstripping are there and in good shape. dash and center console have been re done in truck bed liner. so black and textured. but in a semi-cool way

has a 500 and 300watt amplifier with a sound equalizer(?) and 2 12's in a custom box with the cargo shade and electric hatch motors.

paint is ok but is no where near perfect. scratched nicked and scuffed in places. but from afar and with some coats of wax should be acceptable, the spoiler is also cracked and flaking in places

engine has 2 electric fans and a switch inside to keep the secondary fan on. single exhaust and the ac system works but has a leak. he wants 3500 for it.

anything i should know about or check for on an 88 GTA before i get it?

Hey Alex, an '88 GTA is always way cool, and this one looks really nice.
Do you have a mechanic that can go over the engine/powertrain ?

Re: another one bites the dust

because the backs close at 2 and I thought they closed at 4 today I wont be able to get it until Monday. but it'll be $3,300

if this one doesn't work out ill probably just kill myself. or who knows because its a GTA i might pay 3300 for it and the insurance will give me 5 or 6 XD

**puts car info into nadaguides.com** god dammit the 88 GTA is valued at $25 more then my 83 SE.

nice, doesnt pull, doesn't shift weird, doesnt want to stall, the only thing i dont like is it runs a bit hot for my liking (and that's not due to any malfunction but the OE 195degree thermostat in it) and it is only a single exhaust, but it is LOUD and CRACKLES like a ****

other then that i do have a list that needs done, then a list i want done.

so now we need another 3rd gen meetup in a couple weeks or so. because the first meetup we had was after i lost my 83. so come on get to it

Re: another one bites the dust

Those look like Cars and Concepts aftermarket t-tops in the picture. If they are held in with metal tabs in the center, they are. They might also be marked C&C somewhere on them. If they are, go to this website http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/ and order replacement weatherstripping while it still exists. This is the only source for the weatherstrip for these tops since they aren't factory. Having these t-tops in it also means custom headliner if it ever needs replaced. These are smaller than factory and installation at the dealership involved the use of a sawzall to cut up a hardtop car.

These tops came in two styles. Normal removable and a style that pops up like a manual sunroof in addition to coming out. Our GTA has the second style that pops up like sunroof panels.

Hey Beater, My T/A has C&C tops aswell. Should i be concerned with Weather Stripping?

Edit: Nice Pics by the way Bebb. I personally like this one better than your past two.

Re: another one bites the dust

The company that made C&C t-tops went out of business approximately 20 years ago. Sunroofdoctors bought the remaining stock. No one reproduces the stuff and factory pieces will not work with these. Up to you if you want to order or not but these tops are hard to find (you might want to randomly watch eBay and CL for spares) and the weatherstripping is limited availability with only a single source.

There are a few threads on the board about this style t-top.

Haha, no problem. And yes i have one decal in my car ready to go, until my friend is back in town. We made the page because the owner of the original one didn't want to be associated with us, but more as a community. As for another meet i dont know what to do, i should probably start a new thread for that.

Re: another one bites the dust

Hey Everyone! So every last Friday of the month, the local Pontiac Power Group, holds a small meet at Nicantonies Pizza (not the best food imo) located: 1430 w Warner rd at McQueen, Gilbert, AZ. It starts at 6, but i plan to be out there around 6:30 when it begins to cool off to around 100 degrees today. If anyone is interested and wants to come out let me know so we can park side by side!!

I wouldn't say the loudest as im sure there is worst somewhere, BUT it is the loudest i have seen in Arizona and the most ridiculous haha. Please put a damn muffler on it, the crackling is horrible haha.
