Car: 1987 Z28 Convertible Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 5-speed | SIR (Tucson) on April 5th & maybe a BBQ before? Guys,
There are a couple of us that are planning on running at SIR on Friday, April 5th. It has been suggested on a couple of other threads that we could have a BBQ of sorts before going to the track.
Because everyone who has posted recently that lives in Tucson all live on the east side (except BB91), I think it would be a great idea to have it at my house (Rita Ranch). BB91, I hope you can make it. Is there any interest in doing this?

Car: Sexy Engine: Stock Transmission: Slipping | I'm all for the racing, but since it's a Friday I have to work. You know, so I can give the money to Summit the day after.
Can't wait to get to the track and run. I'll get to see if gutting cats really makes any difference. I'll be testing new chips also. Too bad I won't have my SLP headers done by then.
I need slicks. *pages through catalogs*

Sorry you have to work on the 5th.
I'm planning on having everyone over about 2:00 - 2:30pm. That way, we can all leave for SIR around 4:00 - 4:30pm. We left my house on March 15th at 4:30 and it worked out great at SIR. In fact, there weren't nearly the number of cars as we experienced on March 1st. In fact, I got THREE runs in by 7:30pm.
Everyone except Tim Burgess lives within 10 minutes of me. It only makes sense to meet at my house, pig out, then go racing -- all fat, dumb and happy!!! We can always have more get togethers in the near future, maybe even rotate houses. I know how badly you want to meet at your house (close to Tucson National) and maybe the next time we can. But for this time, I feel it's a good idea to get together at my house considering the locale of everyone and my proximity to SIR.

Car: 1987 Z28 Convertible Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 5-speed | Guys,
My wife had an idea. How about we go to SIR as early as possible to beat the crowd, about 4pm. Get in as many runs as we can, then BBQ afterwards, maybe around 7pm or so? I kind of like it. How about it?

| I think your wife's plan is better
I would be cool to go to SIR first, then have a good long BBQ, instead of rushing through the eating, we can all just relax and tell stories, get to know each other better.
oh Willie, do I have to tell you if I'm going...no no DO I have to tell you if I'm going you don't even have to ask brotha.
I just hope the car is running fine by then.
oh and I have to teach you how to give props "the hand shake thing LOL" |

Car: 1987 Z28 Convertible Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 5-speed | Well then, let's pig out after racing. For the guys that want to meet at my house, please be here by 4:00pm. We will be leaving at 4:15 at the latest. For those who will be meeting us at SIR, we'll try to park as close to the main gate as possible. After entering the pits, tech is located directly to the left. We will be parked to the right. Look for my wife's blue Mazda mini-van.
As for the BBQ, I need a head count first. I will also need to coordinate our grub. Please e-mail me your phone number and I'll call.

Willie | You already know my phone number and email address
I'll be coming to the BBQ, but not the race. I'll check this post out again for a guestimate on when you'll be done racing. I'll bring the whole family but I really doubt the wife and kids are gonna be eating. Let me know what you want me to bring.
See you all on Friday. |

Car: Junk Engine: Junk with nitrous Transmission: Junk with gears | Damnit! My firebird is still sitting in Vail waiting for the new engine parts, should be finished by the end of this month. I could bring my Grand Prix and run it but bringing a G-body to an Fbody meeting might be blasphemy ehh? I'd like to see what the other Tucson F bodies run tho..

Yeah I know, I had a real good job as an Aircraft Mechanic after I graduated and was real busy working 12 hours a day 6 days a week (making money too), but then I was layed-off so I'm going back to school right now for mech. engineering. Really sucks when you go from making good money to practically nothing! We'd like to go to the BBQ.....what should we bring? It would be me and my girlfriend, since it is HER car we're running Vadim wants to come to, he's got a new motor setup he wants to run, but I don't think he'll make the BBQ. I'll email ya my #

Car: 1987 Z28 Convertible Engine: 305 TPI Transmission: 5-speed | I will be calling everyone starting Tuesday (Apr 2) evening. I have everyone's number except Cra-Z28.
For everyone who's meeting at my house to go to SIR, we will be leaving promptly at 4:10. If you're not here by then, meet us at SIR. Once inside the gate, drive towards the right (south). Look for my wife's blue mini-van surrounded by a bunch of third gens.
I'm not sure exactly what time I'll be back at my house from SIR, but will shoot for 7:30 - 8:00pm. For those who are showing up at my house for the cookout only, please hang tight if no one is here when you show up.
Willie
