Lon, I split your post off the calendar thread cuz it deserved its own thread. Unfortunately I wont be able to go as I will be doing a custom chip for a member's car before the meeting. Good luck and snag me a Vortech Supercharger there, ok?
There is one location in chula vista (otay mesa) off of 94S right near the border. There is another in oceanside. They have a web site, I just put "ecology auto parts" in the search engine and it is about the second site generated. The web site will give you all the locations and phone numbers. I have never been to the oceanside location, but I know the otay mesa location has some 3rd gens.
Results of the 1/2 off sale at the junk yards......
Hi all!
Long time no see or hear from! Did anybody go? Get anything good???
At the Wil. yard, there was alot of Camaros (although all were already picked thru). No third gen birds, but only two second gen birds. So, I picked up a nice '81 NASCAR Trans Am front passenger side fender, as well as a complete three piece rear seat set out of the same car (red/black cloth, with the bird stiched into the center of the top piece of the seat). The front Recaros were trashed, but I did get the shoulder seatbelt brackets off both seats. I also got some chrome valve covers for a Pontiac engine (original GM). I also found a NOS (never used) regular Firebird center taillight/gas door off a '81 bird.
Oh ya, I also forgot. I picked up another aluminum 1LE(?) style spare tire from the back of another car (this was for the third gen F-bodies).:lala:
Lots of small good parts as well!!
I then went to the other yards just to see what they had, and I picked up a right side '93-'97 Trans Am taillight!
Had fun!! If anybody wants to go in the future, call or email me!! We can do lunch afterwards!!! HeHe!!!!
Have a good one,
George
