What does it take to perform an engine swap??

I currently own a 91 Camaro with 305 TBI and want to swap for a 350 TPI. I want to buy the engine used with all ducting wiring and computer and have the engine rebuilt. How wild can I go with the rebuild and still keep it Cali smog legal?? Also after I change the motor I will have to take it to a Referee station for approval correct?? I know the general rule is the motor change must be a same year or newer and can't pollute more than the original motor did. Won't a 350 tpi pollute more than a smaller 305 TBI??

Give Dyno Don a call. He can answer all that. IIRC, you won't need to go to a referee station.

Send a message via AIM to Dyno Don
My info is in the Friendly Companies list.
camaro's came with "350's" so it's legal to swap without going to the referee. I did mine ...no problems.

You are making as much HP as the LS1 engines but more torque.
