Anyone recommend a good Chromer?

Looking to get some quotes on getting parts chromed instead of polished. Polished seems to go for $50-$100 per piece, from what I remember I can get chromed cheaper than that, or at least for the same price which seems a lot better to me. Prefer Inland Empire / Orange county.

Thanks

James

Is it still legal to run a chrome shop in Cali? I thought the tree huggers had run them out of state.

there is a ton of them in the yellow pages. To be able to chrome in the state of California you need to have a license and special shop with the EPA. The License, from what I understand, runs 100k - 250k a year. I would also take a place that polishes as well.

Holy highway robbery Batman! If that figure is correct I don't see how a chrome shop could stay in business in CA. You'd need a ton of business just to cover the license fee, not mention paying the employees, workman's comp. ..and so on.

A good shop would need to be pulling in 500k to 1mil in business each year.

I actually called and emailed them a few days ago. Hasn't gotten back with me yet, but the initial quote I got from him was better than polishinginc.com (which is a guy from the boards) So I guess I will go that route. I just didn't want to have parts clash. I have a chrome summit alternator (140 amp of course) and have always seen a difference between chrome and polished. But it is a whole lot cheaper. do you have any pics of the stuff they did for you?
