Scaning OBD II

Is there any cable and software avaliable to hook up to a laptop to scan OBD II?

You can pick up a scan tool just about anywhere, for example I got my ODBII scan tool from Auto Zone. But for a good scanner/programming software it obviously depends on the application but I have heard a lot of good things about the software called LT1 Edit

LT1 edit will allow to also program your PCM. If you want a scanner try AutoTap or EFI live also by AutoTap http://www.autotap.com/
