New addition to the garage =D

I just bought a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX to use as my daily driver. It has 66,000 original miles and I picked it up from the original owner. Specs are 2.0 liter DOHC 4 banger with turbo, 5-speed manual, all wheel drive, and limited slip. Pretty peppy car especially when the turbo kicks in. I will get some pics as soon as possible.

Just in time too. The TA is acting weird again. When cruising at a constant speed the car stutters. Seems almost like a plug wire might be grounding or a sensor is acting up. No codes are being thrown either. At first I thought it was the tranny but I noticed while i park if I rev it to about 2k and keep it there I can feel the stuttering then as well.

Haha Yea I know Mitsu is having problems. Doesn't bother me. Not like it has a warranty through the manufacturer or anything. Just another car I will own that the manufacturer doesn't make anymore

This car is in great shape and the owner has the paperwork for everything he has done to the car. It will be nice to have a second vehicle to drive daily instead of running up the miles on the TA. So no worries, I am not giving up the TA I just needed a car to go to work and back in that won't kill me on gas mileage and has functioning AC.

Could have probably picked up another thirdgen for the price and used the hand-me-downs from the TA

True but one third gen in more than enough for me. I really wanted a compact car that would be something different other than the TA. I am really happy with the GSX. It's comfortable and parts are cheap.

My Dad took these pics this morning. Not the best since he kind of was in a rush. Plus this is before I had a chance to wash the car. This car is a complete 180 from the TA. It's quiet, slower, but much more refined. Problem on the TA so far looks like a broken coolant valve causing coolant leakage and vacuum leakage.

Nice Eclipse!

That's an excellent choice for a daily driver. At least it's not another worthless SUV or even worse a Honduh! LOL!

Now you don't have to risk driving the T/A in Cali "commuter" traffic anymore. There's alot of stressed-out knuckleheads out there these days.

From what I've read on the 'net, you can make those 1st gen DSM's pretty fast for very little $$$.

I'd like to get another daily-driver after I get my GTA back together again. The only problem is, the current one I have ('88 Toyota PU 400K+ original miles) just keeps on going and going and going. Like the Energizer bunny. Damn that Toyota quality!

Yea no Honduhs for me. I can't stand driving front wheel drive cars. You are right now the TA doesn't have to sit in the hot stop and go traffic anymore or risked getting smacked.

I use to own a 1989 Toyota Pick-Up. Most reliable vehicle ever. I swear that truck never broke down and if did have a problem it would be extremely cheap and easy to fix. Only problem with my truck was it was a base model. No AC, pleather seats, so it was very uncomfortable to drive. Still regret getting rid of it though

Yep I already know what the problem is on the TA. It's just a case now of getting the part and putting it on.

Very long hours of work. But I needed a car to drive daily and now that I have it I can't believe the difference from driving the TA to driving this car. This was the car I was looking for. I got really lucky on finding this car especially the condition it is in. This car is in better shape than my TA was when I first bought it.

Sweet Nigel.. I bet you got a good deal on it also.. I hear you there about the diffrence.. I will always like the 3rd gen's performance and handling in turns and top end, But any of the newer cars.. The ride is much smoother, just to enjoy being a driver.. Great to hear work is going well for you.. Kit..

Peace

With all of the road construction crap that happening in my area lately, I'm kinda suprised the wheels didn't fall off yet.

Actually, I do keep it in pretty good shape. Maybe too good.
