It's good to see the competition is getting tough. But is anyone besides Jerry consitantly running 12.6-12.8 ? Even Team Bunny had a few 13.X runs tossed in between 12-second passes.

Car: 90 RS 'Vert, 88 IROC-Z, 88 Firebird Formula (just acquired!) Engine: 305 ci tbi, 305 ci tpi, 305 ci tpi Transmission: WC-T5, WC-T5, 700R4 Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27 | 12.71 @106 with foglights installed, air filters in place and still in need of some chip tuning. A lil bit of race gas worked well for him. Another round of trash-talking begins.

Car: 1991 Camaro z28 Engine: 355 Transmission: 700 R/4 with BTO 2400 stall | lol i was there too. Lon did randy tell ya what i did to my car? Ended up blowing the rear, barely made it home. And all day it wouldnt shift into third. So the last run i brought it to the top of second, then let off and let it get into third, and held it right where it wouldnt downshift. So end result of that run was a 16.5 at 91.x i shoulda seen 14's all day if it woulda ran right |

Randy has been knocking on the 12-second door for a while. I'm sure the race gas eliminated his timing retard and that's what got him the topend he was lacking. |

Oh just wait and see. The Red Dragons is going under the knife yet again and shes coming out breathing with even more fire than a little 100 shot of Nos | Could have been Rusty, as he was going for 12's with more NAWs

{see above} | Rusty was already running mid 12s with the juice.
It is Randy. There aren't many people Vincent cares enough about to qarrant a post. Randy's probably not able to post because he has since sold his soul and is now an empty being

Car: Moving... Engine: Running... Transmission: Shifting... | I guess I have some explaining to do First off no NAWS, thank you all very much and I would hope that even a meager 50 shot would be get well into the 12s. Here is the breakdown of the pass 1.771 60'
8.135 1/8
85.82 MPH
12.770 1/4
106.51 MPH
I have actually raced with race gas the last four times to the track. Jerry was very kind last time in giving me some of his gas and the two prior occassions I purchased from Chris the guy that runs Starfighter Motorsports, the fuel guy at the track. I purchased the same amount that I have been right after I got through tech. Even the 60' is obviously not something I that new to me, meaning I have cut several 1.7s and have not seen a 12 sec pass.
However after the pass I did start thinking about the cooler weather that would be coming that evening and that reminded me that I never removed the filters I had also left the fog lights intact because I didn't see any gains from the last trip to the track when I removed them.
I did install two parts before my first pass, they are $17.99 (come as a kit) and you can get them from any Auto Zone. After the Rim of the World cruise, I decided to change the Cap and Rotor, not earth shattering I know, but I just thought it was time and maybe it was....
Oh yeah I amlost forgot, I still have my 3.23s so hopefully some gearing may yield some better results

Better to go at night anyway for comfort on the trip considering your lack of a/c.

I can go to LV at any time of the day. He'll Mike and I were playing cat and mouse all the way back last summer during mid-day, no problems. |

As the RPMs climb in second gear going to third they dip once or twice, clearly when the timing is being pulled out due to knock counts. I finally decided to go ahead and use my work laptop so I got DataMaster installed, now I just need to make sure the cable I have works and then I can hopefully start to see if I can make a chip that will let me pull all the way to 5800 without the timing being retarded. |
