Current air quality regs require all paint shops to install high dollar filtration/vent systems in spray booths. I think I heard that the cost for a booth to be legal runs around $100k. If someone spends that kind of money, they need to make it pay for itself. I doubt if their is enough demand from diy auto painters to keep a rental booth busy, and the rent for something with a $100k price tag would be close to what you would pay a pro to paint it for you.
I figured it would be tough to find a place. I'll continue looking while building a temporary booth in my garage, just hope I can get away with it in my condo complex. I just really want to paint it myself. Thanks guys.
stop by any local body shop and as long as you tell them and or make it sound like you know what you doing and your car is ready most will work you in to do it yourself. i work at jefferys autobody in new york and two shops right by us do it . hope this helps
