Irwindale News

Geeze today the traffic was bad. My car hates it. Well Gene didnt get to take his car. We where almost ready to load it on the trailer and it blew a header tube right off. Car sounds like a Funny Car it's so dam loud.
So we decided to take the Cts V and my car. It was packed with a lot of cars. I lined up against a 2nd gen Camaro and red lighted a .341 and did nothing but spin the 30' mark or more not sure, After that smoked was boiling out the rear. By the time I got my time slip I had for got about it, I went and lined in the lanes again. Gene came over and said don't go again you where blowing smoke I was like oh shoot thats right. So I backed out and went and parked, My dang oil dip stick was sticking out about a few inches blew right out of there. So that was my only run, it's not even worth it with out some Et streets or slicks I ran a 9.475@73.96 on the dfi. I still beat the cts V times that Gene ran. So I seriously need to get some descent tires that will hook up if Im going to even get in the range of Vincent, Allen, or Don. Well atleast I ran the car. Now it's just getting it tuned and passed smog. It still ran consistent compared to my 8.33 or so last time. Tire is worth the 1 second.

That sounds really serious Branden!

I think the condition is contagious! Were'nt you just at Don's shop? I think your car caught the dipstick disease from my car. (Those germs must have been floating around from december )

Definitely you need slicks! The last time I went to Irwindale with my street tires I spun them THE WHOLE 1/8! Sometimes being faster is less fun!

Re: Irwindale News

When I checked my oil from the night before I didnt get the dipstick in far enough. I dont know if oil coming out from there is a bad thing or not. Gene never said anything about it being bad.

If I buy slicks I would have to buy 2 rims and that be a lilttle out of my budget. If I could find some cheap rims at pyp that are those good GTA rims that be cool. I might check out those Nitto's? Do you think those would hook up or just spin?

Re: Irwindale News

Well I went on a run and had no smoke come out. If Im parked and Rev a bit smoke black smoke comes out. Maybe running a lilttle rich. So that was a mistake I made that happend at Irwindale.
