Re: Julie about that dipstick curse

I see that Someone else on Sc3g is having the same dipstick problem. Im going to check out that pcv valve, never knew that would cause problems like this.

I thought I made a mistake the 1st time. Then today a 07 Gt wanted to play, was there mistake to try to out run the Roc, Now I see what's happening with this dipstick problem.

I'm truly sorry Branden. I didn't know it was contagious, until just recently.
I feel your pain.

Re: Julie about that dipstick curse

yes make sure pvc system is connected and working

you have ot have a way/place for gases inside the crankcase to escape or it will find the path of least resistance, to escape, IE the tube

and if it gets too built up then it can start blowing gaskets

good luck

Re: Julie about that dipstick curse

I checked that pvc valve and it seemed to be ok. It's fairly new but I can always buy a new one. I used a peice of rubber from a cushion pen to force the tube down tighter so maybe that will help. I checked out Kragen for a new dipstick but there way to short.

Re: Believe I fixed it

The tube that goes down to the oil pan area is a bit skinny. Don had to fab something to make it stay down tight. The oil dipstick I believe is for a thicker tube that goes down in there. Been awhile since I seen a stock tube, however the rubber peice that I used from a pen helped out and it's not blowing out under accelration.
