New best with the new combo + broken trans

I got to take my new 6152 turbo to the 1/8th at Qualcomm Stadium on Friday night. I ran a 7.51 @ 94 with minimal tuning before trouble hit. Best time with the TA49 turbo was 7.8 @ 89.

I think something was wrong with my torque converter going into the night. When I staged, I set my transbrake and floored the gas to spool up. The converter would flash to 2500RPM and it would take about 3 seconds to spool up the turbo. At 15PSI I was at about 3500 RPM and then I would launch. My torque converter seemed to have "tightened" up somehow possibly?

After about 8 passes, I launched hard and it sounded like my front U-joint broke. After inspection it looked fine, but my car makes a clunking noise while in Reverse now. Also while in Drive it goes fine, but when I left of the gas... clunk clunk clunk...same sound as when in Reverse.

I dropped the car off at Art Carr's and am waiting to hear back!

Looks like a close match between Frank and I.

Re: New best with the new combo + broken trans

I had Art Carr work on one of my vehicles once.
I was told it would be ready that fri pm, when I arrived the vehicle was still on the lift and they said a part got delayed and I would have to come back on tue.
6 mos later I remove the engine and find my bell housing welded up on the inside.
Thats why the vehicle wasnt ready, they broke the bell housing and it was out being welded. Not funny how they "forgot" to tell me that.
