Re: California Speedway Private track rental

Are we looking at the March 22 date? Sounds good to me. Is there any special equipment required (drive shaft loop, etc.) to run slicks? Or would it be better to just run drag radials (DOT tires)?

Hopefully, you guys will get a lot of runs for that $115 entry fee.

Re: California Speedway Private track rental

is that for drag racing? man 115 is still a lot cheaper then the 269 they charge for motorcycle road racing. Thats the main reason i haven't gone that that track even though its so close. I've only gone to WSIR Willow Springs International raceway because they charge 140

They are saying they need 80 cars minimum, but will cut off the entries at 100 cars. That puts it at less than 25% of the number showing up for their regular test and tune and bracket racing dates.

We just run drag radials, but yes, a DSL is required for slicks.

Re: California Speedway Private track rental

I'm already down for the Memorial Day meet with the Invasion group. We normally get 3 runs in 8 hours with 400 cars. So theoretically we could get up to 12 runs with only 100 cars. Of course breakdowns will cut into the time. I will follow the crowd on this one.

Picked up my intake system from Specialized Coatings today so should have the car back on the road next week.

A helmet (Snell M2000 rated or better) is required for 13.99 or quicker, or any convertible.
A driveshaft loop is required for any drag slicks (not drag radials), or 12.99 or quicker.
A 6 point roll bar is required at 11.49, or 13.49 for convertible.
A non c-clip rear end (that means no 10-bolts, 9-bolts are ok) is required at 10.99 or quicker.
A full rollcage and an NHRA competition license is required at 9.99.

This chart will help but its a little confusing.

If I can get my car done I will love to go. If not I will shoot for the April run.

Re: California Speedway Private track rental

I noticed the site didn't say anything about spectators or pit crews. If someone wanted to go as a spectator or as pit crew to haul tools and help out the competitors, is that allowed or do they need to "pony up" $115.00 also?

Re: California Speedway Private track rental

I'm guessing that spectators/pit crew are the normal $10 price.

From another board I have found out the "public" is not allowed in, but racers can bring in all the "crew" they need.
I am waiting to find out if you can arrive later and lie your way in.

Thats what the guy on the other board said. Just tell them you are there to help some one who is racing.
