I will get the thread started. I had a new best et and mph of 12.12@111.27mph. Inching closer to that 11.99 time slip. However I think the next one tenth will be hard to come by. I think any more gains to come are going to be with the chasis and weather.
With the Hoosier drag radials the car is becomming very consistant. Also the day was a learning curve for me with the new tires and the 4L60E transmission. I had to back off the 6400 shift point some because a little valve float set in.
All in all I believe everyone had a good time. With the set up of test and tune we could get quite a few runs in. I got six in and could have had a lot more. My kills for the day were a 60's GTO, A late model GTO, a Mustang and two forth Gens. Also a grude match with a fellow club member. There should be film at the meeting. 6 wins no losses.
There is talk of going to Famosa this Fall. Maybe October-November. This will probably be a topic of discussion at the next meeting or one down the road.

My day at Fontana was ok overall. Congrats to Allen, his new times are stunning and also, his engine was really clean.
Street and track driving are getting to be more and more different! Well, alot has changed from last year!
I got no new bests, lots of 1.8 60' foots, ran about 13.3 - 99mph, average.
The first runs were brain farts! That just helped me get mad and fix it.
I got a line lock and that was something to learn. I ought to know how to do burnouts by now!
It's wierd to shift at almost 6000 rpm (when stock it was making power near 4000.) It feels OK, but it still looks scary.
I'm not sure why but I got scared and lifted in the last 2 runs (still got 13.60's!)
Maybe I ran out of gas, hit rev limit, burnt tranny, mis -shifted (not!), (now Allen makes me wonder, Valve float?)
Anyway it was OK afterward!
Thanks to everyone who came to help, and spectators too!
I got DQ'd and sent back to the pits because a coolant line randomly got a hole! That was fixed thanks, too!!!
Well after a nights sleep I have come up with a 4 point plan to get into the 11's with the current motor.
1. Recurve my torque converter to a SS4000 from my SS3600. I will talk to Yank for the best route to go on this. They may recommend another style. My peak torque is 4800rpm.
2. Install my mini starter. That will be good for 9 pounds. I was going to wait for the new motor but again so close.
3. Go back on the dyno and fine tune my motor. It needs some clean up. This will bring more power under the curve but not necessarily more peak power. I was not going to do this with the new motor on the horizon but being so close every little bit counts.
4. The driver needs to loose 10 to 15 pounds minimum.
Congrats Allen!! Your car has come a looooong way. Pretty darn consistent too. I think that shifting a couple of hundred RPM sooner might help with this current engine combo. I'm looking forward to going to Famoso some nice cool night with your car. Talk to ya soon...
Hi Julie, You are STILL my hero! One of these days you're gonna bust into the 12's. You have all the pieces to this puzzle, now we just have to put them all together. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Take care..
New best for me, 12.9 @ 112 on street tires. I think that could be mid 12's on some sticky tires. 60' was 2.2. Thats all I wanted was to hit 12's so I'm happy.
that 12.9 was cool, im sure with drag radials and suspension mods youl be close to the mid 12's. It was a fun day overall, some nice fast and great looking cars. I'l post some pics once i get a chance, only thing i don't miss is the headache that raw fuel gave me
I would say easy mid 12 with some tires. I really like the Hoosier street radial tire. Very consistant launches with them. Only problem is they are actually a track tire and not to be used on the street.
I really enjoyed going along to help out and watching you guys and gal run. I just regret that I forgot to take my hat! Today I have the sunburn to remind me to take my hat along in the future! Congrats Allen!!! Your car is really running great! You also were running some pretty good reaction times. You just missed a perfect light by .001 seconds!

Thanks RWB___s for the information. If only we can get some mineshaft air at Fontana. It looks like we might be going to Famoso this Fall. Hopefully the DA will be better and along with the mods I can sneak in an 11.99 time slip.
I talked to Dave at Yank Converters and he recommends a PT4000 for my car as I will not be using nitrous. So after the club picnic this July I will send my SS3600 back to Yank and have it converted to a PT4000. Meanwhile onward with the driver weight reduction program.

Thanks, Did you make it out? I didn't see you there.
No we didn't make it out to the races. We woke up Mon and found we had gotten baked hanging out at the lake and decided not to go. We went to the movies and after the movie I wished I had gone to the races instead .
I have a pic of the end of that race I'll try to get up. He ran a 14.0 and I ran a 12.9 on that run, plus I had alot better reaction time so I made him look pretty bad.
