Re: The Annual Big Bear trip to Lagonita
The initial starting point will be Dyno Don's shop:
1030 W. Hoover Ave.
Orange CA 92867
The meeting place at the bottom of the mountain is Wildwood Park:
414 E. 40th Street
San Bernadino, CA 92404
We'll be following a route similar to the Los Angeles Invasion:
http://www.losangelesinvasion.com/ROTW1.html
Except we'll be stopping at the Alpine Slide and Logonita Lodge instead of Meadow Park.
I am not sure what time we should leave, as the dinner at the lodge is not until 5pm, and its only a two hour drive from O.C. up the hill. It depends on how long we want to hang out at the slide and the lodge. We'll be able to play pool and ping pong, as well as rent a boat and go out on the lake if we want to, at the lodge.
Does anyone want to come back to my place in Brea afterwards and have a small party?

I doubt I can make it. I have a Kiwanis event for a couple of hours in the morning followed by a customer repair job. If the customer postpones I'll be there.

Re: The Annual Big Bear trip to Lagonita
I think a good time would be to leave Don's shop at 8:00 am. I think that would get us to Wildwood Park at about 9:00 am. Allow 1/2 hour at Wildwood Park, that gets us to the Alpine slide @ 10:30 or so. We probably would want to grab some burgers, dogs or something for lunch at the Alpine Slide, and allowing time for games, cars, and the slide We would probably get to Lagonita about 12:30 or 1:00pm, right so far? The boat rental ties up 3 hours with perhaps 1/2 hour to load up. I think that would pretty well fill up the day while leaving time for people to do what ever other games or activities they would want to do. Does my suggested time line look reasonable?

The boat ride is only an hour, not three.

He might be tired after traveling here from Bakersfield. I wouldn't want him to run off the side of the road going up to BB. Also I can't fit all the tools to repair a door hinge in my Camaro. I could do the headlight repair though.

They'll let you rent it for three hours if you desire. Maybe Russ wants to waterski this year?

Don, Lorraine informed me on the way home from Las Vegas that she wants to go to the L.A. County Fair in Pomona with my daughter and grandsons, and the only date that works for my daughter is Sept 19, so it looks like I won't make it this year after all.

Re: The Annual Big Bear trip to Lagonita
Hey Guys,
Looks like I'll be picking up a '91 this week sometime. I actually live up in running springs, so pending anything falling OFF the car on the way home, maybe I'll buzz by and meet a few people. I was a little upset when I read BIG BEAR, and then the 19th. . . would be my typical luck to find out about a meet on the 19th... on the 21st. But the 26th would be nice.
If you go up the 18 or 330, I live just beyond the 76 station where they meet up. Watch for CHP when you drop into that area. It says 30mph and they mean it. There's a couple of spots there that they like to hang out.
