This is an early version of the Ronal R9. There were extremely popular in the mid to late 80”s on BMW and Mercedes Benz applications. Most of the R9’s that found their way onto F-Body’s were originally fitted to BMW’s as the bolt patterns (5x120 BMW vs. 5x120.6 GM) and offsets are extremely similar. The center caps in the images are not correct for the wheels. The original caps were flush mount not conical. Hope this helps…
i was looking all over for the answer but i could not find it. good call.
how is it going tony? nice rims - not all that hot for all black in the center, would rather see some color used as highlights rather than all black.
the nice thing about paint is that you can always take it off.
yeah the guy that is selling me these rims had told me that ronel made some replicas of these rims, he told me they were american racing wheels, and i been on the net trying to find some rims that look like these but the only ones i find at the ronels r9 or so they kinda look like the american racing something torque lite or something like that i can quite remeber the name, by any chance have you come a cross these rims on a third gen? what i mean like a picture on the net?

yeah as for me i always liked black rims with the polished lip they remind me alot of the pontiac honeycomb rims or so the ones that are either black or kinda of the goldish look with the polish lip, but hey if you come across any pics with these rims on a 3rd gen please feel free to post up the pics.
American racing made a similar wheel to the Ronal R9, thats what you have. I dont know who made them first, I think Ronal did and American Racing copied them. They were a little less expensive, but I think the R9 looked better.

im guessing for 100 dollars thats a bad price for the rims ill be getting all four of them with the tires and the center cap's. cause the guy told me they were on a white iroc when he bought the car back in 1997 or so and didint like them cause they didint went well with a white car but he told me he had them on a red camaro and they looked great.
Well if they're 16x8's, sounds ok to me. I think they were around $100 a piece new, or so and the Ronals were more like $150 a piece... in the late 80's anyway.
hey tony, ive seen some of your photoshop work, your really good at it. just tryin to compliment you on some things i could never do. nice wheels though, they look great on your car. hope you find some

you seen some of my photoshop work? i never notice it was out there been seen by others what you think of my main pic? that one was one of the ones i liked a lot since i used the maro logo so yeah.
We used to have a guy in our club, Andy, that had those rims on his Camaro. Kevin might have some pics floating around of his car from past events.
by any chance is your buddy Andy on the forms here? that you might no off, and if he is could you direct me towards him. cause i been trying to do research on these wheels i even called american racing and they told me there systems dont go that far back to look up any information of certain wheels. the only thing i come up on the web are the ronel r9 or something wheels that they made to copy the american racing wheels but sold at a cheaper price and the ones that american racing did for the saleen in the early 80's or so. but still no name comes up when researching this wheels. if you could ask your buddy kevin for some pics or more info that would be great.
I might have a pic of his car but I dont know if it includes his wheels.
Last I heard, Andy sold his thirdgen and bought a Volkswagen.
That would be coo if you have a pic of his camaro with those wheels hopefully cause im gonna go pick them up either tomorros (saturday) or next saturday on the 8th or so, thanks for your help and all. i'll keep on looking harder and harder and reading more so i could find the correct info on these wheels.
Nope, the pics I have of his car are front views, not side shots.
Dang thats a bummer. Oh well its all good but thanks for looking in for me about the wheels. But if you come across any info about the wheels or if you happen to see Andy just ask him if he remebers any info about these wheels.
