V6 or 305
Quick question.
i have 200k miles on my 1991 camaro rs. i should be able to get 300k before baring or something goes. But when it does go i want to prepare.
should i rebuild the v6 or try to find a 305 or something to put in. Im tight on money. i mean by all means if i can find a L98 thats a 91 year.
V6 isnt to bad getting 26 mpg

Re: V6 or 305
Well what are your plans for the car? Are you going to use it for a daily driver commuter car or do plan to only cruise it on weekends. Do you want a fast 1/4 mile car or an autocross road race car or something inbetween.

Plan on an engine swap costing you $3000-4000, no matter which engine you use.

Personally I'd go with a rebuild or new V6.

To bad you can't legally use the V6 out of the 1989 Pontiac. I hear that one put out some good power.

If anyone had an L98, you would need the whole donor car to have enough parts to do the swap.
You wouldn't believe the stuff you have to change.

Re: V6 or 305
Plus an L98 is a 350 which wasn't one of your choices. You'd have to do the same thing whether is was a 305 or 350 though.
