I hate this program, with a vengeance. Anyway, I'll just post the link and let you guys take a look, make sure to watch the poor volvo spin it's last rpm, it's truly horrific. Screaming engines like that break my gear head heart
Didnt even sound like the thing seized up, they shut it off after the thing pissed oil and caught on fire.
Yup, we're doing the environment a favor. Nothing to see here, please move along.
I couldn't watch the video, because it made my computer crash.
I heard about this at the meeting today, though.
It's a sad day in American history.
Edit: OK I saw it and others on You tube.
I don't even like volvos, but it made me want to cry.
Not only is it hard to watch somebody blow up a car on purpose, when I try hard not to do it by accident!
I grew up with the idea that its wrong to waste goods.
Can't we give them to a developing nation or something?
The govt yells at us for tossing items in the trash, but with their help we have become a use it and toss it nation. Technology has made most electronic items obsolete before you get it out of the box.
I have thousands of dollars invested in work equipt that was all purchased since 1993 and its ALL obsolete, when it breaks I have to throw it away because the mfgr no longer supports it.
These days people expect things to break and be replaced every few years, my parents and your grandparents did not, they bought the best they could afford and expected it to last many years, esp kitchen appliances.
Now 99% of what is available to us is made in China and will last somewhere between 60 days and 2 years. Does not matter what the item is, its all based on the mood of the chinese when they made it.
Must be a lot of traffic on that site, after about 10 tries I finally got it to load.
That car was in pretty nice shape, and one heck of a engine.
Even if it was a gross polluter, which Im sure it wasnt, that right there was probably equal to about 10,000 miles of normal driving pollution.
It would be interesting if someone did a smog check on one of those turned in cars while they were killing the engine to see how much pollution was being put out, then multiple that by about 250,00 cars.
I feel all guilty watchin that. It's like those faces of death videos. You know you shouldn't be watching it but how often do you get to see that stuff?
That sucks man it sounded like a nail on a chalk board! I thought this program was for clunkers not nice rides like that Volvo What a waste of Govt money!
Check out what people are looking to trade in and what they are interested in getting as a replacement. Purchasing a Toyota is the #1 pick.....what a waste of taxpayer money. http://www.dealer-seo.com/marketing/...s-predictions/
