Yea, lots of hoopla regarding the date. Won't see a single digit event such as this until 01/01/3001. But as far as I'm concerned, it's just another birthday, nothing special.
Today started out weird though. The manager at the Mimi's where we hold our Kiwanis meeting (and our car club meeting) forgot her keys. She had to go back home to retrieve them. I started the meeting on time at 7:02 in the courtyard outside. They didn't open the restaurant doors until 7:45. No hot breakfast for us today. They just brought out muffins and coffee and a side order of apologies.

Why not 01/01/2101? Or 01/01/2201? When you shorten them it comes out to 01/01/01 the same as 01/01/2001 did.
These things happen every hundred years, not every 1000 as I have been hearing.
