thanks man! I havent got it yet but sunday I'm gonna go down an pick it up. I'm gonna do the swap complete before I get rid of the parts car. I'm getting it for 500, and the guy told my he pretty much rebuilt his whole drive train before he wrecked the car so the car is legit. I'm so excited I HATE auto. I'm wondering how much faster the cars gonna feel, I know on my bros 91 mustang 5.0 it felt alot faster. On my 01 TA it helped too so I'm curious.

Re: Buying a 91 tbi 5speed camaro

yeha the plug for the trans that goes on the drivers side will be different on the manual trans. Also if you get the chip from the ecm from teh manual car and plug it into yours your shift light will work. But since yours is tpi and that one is TBI I'm not sure how that will work.

Its not necessary but if you look at your computer it has a small cover with two bolts. Remove them and the prom is there. You can remove that prom and plug in the one from the manual car. But like I said not sure how that will work in your situation since they're different years and different Injection.

The tbi computer is different from the tpi. Also your 1989 tpi will use a maf while 1990-1992 tpi are speed density. You can't use anything from the computer in a tbi car on the tpi, but I think Kevin can reprogram your existing chip for the 5 speed.

That's not the only issues.
The backup light switch is on the auto shifter, it's on the trans w/5 spd.
You have to have the clutch disengage sw. also.
The shift light won't work unless you put a bulb in the instr. cluster, and check to see if the wiring is there.
It wasn't on my '90.

You will have to have a custom prom.

I dont really care about the shift light but how will I wire up the clutch disengage sw. and the back up lights?

PM Kevin about the tuning chip issues

The wiring is in a post on here somewhere, it's too hard to describe on a message board. If you want to come by, I will walk you thru it.

My # is on the friendly companies list.
