Hey man, I'm trying to understand what you would like to do. You want the parking lights on when the vehicle is off for a certain time? Or do you want the parking lights to be brighter? Either way it gonna take a little time with the wiring on all four corners and or a relay.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!

Nah its my bad i didn't see the photo. If I remember the lights are dual element so just find the one that goes to the blinking part of the element and tap that into the parking light element and that should be it. Or you could splice both of the element wires together so that both elements come on at the same time and go off but that would be a hazard at night. Or that could be the effect you are going for. I'm not familiar to the fourth gen camaros. my vote would be just to splice the element wires together then turn the parking lights on in the day time by the headlight switch. I also thought that you were going for the effect of the lights staying on after the car and everything was shut off that would take some fab work on the harness, but that wouldn't look half bad hmmm maybe i will do that to mine.... Anyways if you have any questions which wires or anything just PM me -Ryan

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!

In California, you are not allowed to drive with parking lights on without the headlights also being on. The 4th gens do not have parking lights on all of the time, they have day time running lights which are different and legal. What is legal is to have your fog lights on all of the time. The easiest way to do it is to just turn on your fog lights when you start the car.

Really? I thought daytime running lights were the same thing. So is one brighter than the other or what? That seems like another dumb CA law. Anyway I like the look of the daytime running lights.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!

why not just rewire your parking lights to your ignition switch, every time you turn they key your lights come on. should be no different then like wiring your fans to come on manually so i would assume, but i do like to look though, i actually like the lights being on at all time but im sure no one else notices but me lol

Heck yes its a nice look but only when you could actually see them though, there not that bright, like have your car in the on position and turn your blinker on and look at the lights and ehn it blinks is way brighter then when there not blinking.

Tony.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!

It has always been illegal to run parking lights only in Ca. The reason being that people would run parking lights at nigth instead of turning on headlights. Your parking lights are dual element bulbs, with the brighter of the elements being yor turn signals/4 way flashers. If you wire the parking lights to come on when you switch on the ignition, and do it wrong, you will lose your 4 ways with the ignition off. The only way to really do what you want to do legally, and to be sure of not messing up something else is to wire up your fog lights to come on with the ignition.

Re: Camaro Parking Light Question? Help!

Hey Russ-So Cal,

Thanks for the info I really appreciate that. Ok about the wiring to the ignition thats not really what I want to do. Ok forget about my idea about them turning on by them self. But my question is how could I make the parking light's be brighter like when there blinking? Thats what I really want now your telling me that its a 4 way flasher. How could I achieve this? Do I need a different bulb or so? About the fog lights I was never a fan of runing those in the daylight I dont really like the look of that I like to use mine at night, and when its foggy I use those instead of my headlights helps me see better and there yellow foglights too. And if you have a way for me to achieve this would be great.

Thanks. Tony.
