I have decided to sell this 82 trans am. The body and paint as well as interior are all still in nice shape. The downside it needs quite a bit of work of which I have no desire to do to it. The car runs and drives and is registered until febuary of 2010 and I used to use it as my everyday car until 2 weeks ago so it is a reliable car.
Mechanically and electronically every possible thing on this car has been upgraded to a 1990 including all emmisions stuff. The motor is a 1990 vette shortblock with 1990 cast iron L-98 heads however the induction system is 1990 TBI. The car has a T-5 transmission with 90 hydraulic clutch stuff, it was rebuilt last year with new synchros and cluster gear set and input shaft assembly. For some reason it started to grind when trying to downshift into 3rd gear however it upshifts fine (not sure why its doing this) aside from that trans works great and had a new clutch installed this year and does not slip a bit.
here is a list of known problems with the car, I can not possibly know everything thats wrong so if you are concerned about specific things please ask. This is a 100% rust free car with no accident history, it is a factory black/gold car camel interior.
List of known problems
Motor could use rebuild!!! smokes at startup and has high miles but still runs pretty strong.

Tires (has new front kuhmo tires but back bfgoodrich tires are bad)
shocks/struts
passenger door keylock assembly
cruise needs to be hooked up
a/c doesn't work but it's all there

Here is a pretty much complete list of all 90 upgrades to the car.
3.08 open drum rear
entire braking system
TPI exhaust system
entire dash/engine/interior/tail-light harnesses (nothing cut)
140mph trans am electronic dash cluster
VATS system (works perfectly and has never given me problems)
headlight motors
every possible thing under the hood
IROC front sway bar and wonderbar (hollow one)
I am sorry but I am NOT flexible on the price of this car so please do not ask if I will take this much for the car. I would also consider trading the car for 1990 corvette parts. However I am not interested in any car trades for it. I have a clean title for this car as well and it is available for immediate sale and will be detailed prior to sale.

A couple of interesting questions were asked about the car and I should have mentioned this.
Originally the car was an LG-4/automatic car with tan cloth interior. It is not a WS-6 or WS-7 so my guess it's originally just a base suspension car. It originally had those bowling ball wheel cover rims that were 14" rims. The N-24 15 inch wheels were added after a new set of bowling ball covers were stolen off the car. Personally these wheels look better on the car anyways.
The interior is in fact leather as are the door panels. The drivers seat has a tear where the seat upholstery meets the carpet on the back of the seat. also from sliding in and out of the the car one of the welts or whatever you call them is exposed on the drivers seat. The tear can probably be re-stitched though. The other seats in the car are still very nice. The carpet will need to be steam cleaned however I will try to have it done when car is detailed.
Headliner/speaker covers/sun visors are in very nice shape.
radio is a all push button am/fm cassette from a 86 trans am. all volume and balance controls are push button.
complete dash lights up in that factory redish orange color.
However a 1990 is setup is how everything on this car is. And everything functions like a 1990 would.
Car has no cooling issues what so ever. I have driven it it california summers and it never overheated.
Yes the horn works!!!!!!! And no you don't have to light a match to see the dash!!!!!!
The paint is approx. 9 years old and these pictures are of it un-waxed ... It was all done at a local ford dealership I believe dupont or sikkens was used I can't remember.
