Hello to all, I snapped these pictures on my way home from work.
On 10/26/09, at about 11:00am - I was rolling north on I-5 near the 134 split when I saw this dude; does anybody know anything about this vehicle - you know; company - shop - name - location, etc?
This thing was wickedly fast with an unknown horsepower to weight ratio that was absolutely awesome to see in action. The exhaust note was great through the Muzzys; not too loud and very even sounding; sharp and precise! From what I observed, there was no heavy turbulence in the cockpit; the guy's clothing wasn't blowing around or anything. The display pod to the right of the dash looked like it could be a GPS/Info center for the vehicle.
All 3 of us were moving in and out of and through the traffic at a pretty handy clip, that thing was nimble!
*Also notice the plates on the Cayenne - the 2 of them match. They both got off about 2 exits before the 118 freeway, (for those who know the area).*

They are a highend tuner car dealer in Los Angeles I would guess from their product line. I don't know all of the brands they list on their product line, but Rinspeed, Brabus, and Techart are all German tuners who take brand new Porsches, BMWs, or Audis and give them more performance. I've seen some of the cars driven on Speed channel's "Super Cars Exposed" program and prices start at around $250k and go north from there.
They did not show that three wheeler in their web page, so they may have been testing a new product that they are coming out with. There are a number of companies building cars that are a cross between cars and motorcycles. One that I've seen advertised a lot is the Stallion by Thoroughbred Motorsports, but it is oposite from what you showed set up more like a child's tricycle with a single wheel in front for steering and an axle in back. I've seen pics and articles about vehicles like the one you saw, only most had no roof, but I can't remember who all makes them.
I went back to look at more of the tabs on their site and it looks like they are a used exotic car dealer. Interestingly under their "inventory" tab, they showed 8 cars and all were labeled "SOLD".

I ran across something similar on Santiago Cyn rd last tue night. It was dark so I didnt get a good look at it, but it walked away from my GTA, sounded like a turbo. It was more of a gold color.
Thanks you guys for checking that out. I really thought it was cool to see to say the least. Man that company, (Campagna), has been around for a good while...
i think i need to get out of the house a little more often!
Yep, Ita a T-rex. I have seen one up close they awesome. I guy down at Crevier BMW's private collection warehouse down near SNA had one.
I was contacted by a guy named Von Cummins in a research and development program run under a subsiderary that has been working on something very similar called the VentureVehicle. Von is a friend of a friend and was checking to see if he could lend me a prototype for 6months to tinker with and see if I could come up with some better handling ideas. Turns out due to red tape and me not having DOT certs. of any type they could not do so- I was bummed.
Venture Vehicle has two rear and one front tire and steers like a jetfighter as it leans into corners.
i was at a suzuki dealership last weekend, they had a "spyder" a three wheel motorcycle, they seem to be popular in san diego as a saw a couple of them in the local area, had a 1000cc motor looks like fun to drive plus they were only like $12k

I think the Spyder is built by Can-Am but is sold in a lot of the bike shops. It's similar looking to the T-Rex where it has two front wheels and one rear wheel, but has no roof and doesn't look so exotic. They have one hanging off the side of a building in either Riverside or Corona on the south side of the 91.
yeah the shop youre thinking of is Malcolm Smith Motorsports.
There is a Can-Am Spyder hanging off the side of their building lol.
I actually got a chance to ride a Spyder and the thing was awesome! One of the best things about it is you dont need a motorcycle license to ride one because its technically not a motorcycle
Glorified? Not in my book. Exactly the same power, but now in a 900lb vehicle instead of a 450lb motorcycle. Huge increase in weight and effort needed to spin up those wheels/tires. As a performance vehicle, those things will be obliterated in any acceleration contest by a good rider on the motorcycle that they stole the engines from in the first place, for a fraction of the price.
If you want attention, they are a good bet, but as a performance vehicle, they have all the disadvantages of both bikes and cars, (try splitting lanes in one, and it still only carries two). It's not like a motorcycle license is difficult to get.
If I need attention that badly, I'll dye my hair green.
