Hey guys I’m thinking about putting together a little gathering at the Sonic in Anaheim, a twilight cruise down to Huntington Beach, and finish up with a good old fashioned bonfire. I’m thinking either Saturday November 7th or Saturday November 14th. I’ve set up a poll in an effort to see which day will work the best for everyone. This is NOT an official club meeting. The holidays are around the corner, the weather is starting to change, and it gives us an opportunity to sneak in one last cruise before the end of the year. Checking the extended forecast (which is a royal crap shoot) both Sats are predicted to be 74 high 47 low. The beach will be chillier, probably about 10 degrees.

Non the less ...Finally a cruise close enough for me to bring the camaro. I have been waiting for a meet near by, The cruises are always to long for me, car isnt in the best condition.. but I will love to roll. I will be their +1 (gf).

Would love to make it...but seeing as how I live in BC Canada....it may prove to be a bit tough. If I only lived closer, Id be all over it. PLus Ive never eaten at Sonic's...is it better than Jack in the Box?

If it is on saturday nov 7 i might not be able to make it to the meeting at sonic because there is gonna be a show at UTI about drag car so my friend and i are going to check it out.
If the show ends early and the time for the meeting is later that date i might be able to make it

Correct, the only downside is that the fire rings are first come first serve. Not to worry, my girlfriend will be there at 9:30 on the morning of the 14th to reserve a fire ring for us.

Sorry for the late responses guys. I was in Vegas for a few days. Looks like the meet will be Saturday November 14th. I’m thinking we will get started between 3:30 and 4. This will give us plenty of time to meet and greet, eat, and check out each others cars. Once the sun starts to set we will cruise to the beach and our bonfire. If you have any questions of if there is any additional information I might be able to provide you with please let me know.

Sounds like a blast.....probably be home trying to get enough snow scooped that I can at least make it to the garage by then......

I talked to the wife and she said I can drive from BC to go for a rip...but also informed me its about an 8 to 9 hour drive. We should try and organize a massive convention where the Canadian Third Geners can take part in the ordeal.

FYI they just re did that sonic's.. I work behind it at a company called RSI. I drive by it everyday. I Believe they painted it and re did the lighting and some other additions i think... Its on the corner of lemon and Orangethorpe. you cant miss it... on the look their a bally total fitness across the street.

When you are in a position such as me....you can drive whatever speed you want. lol When I get sometime off work...Ill make a trip down and we can try and arrange something then.

#2- Dude, I checked flights for the heck of it and the fastest flight you could get here to Orange county from Victoria BC is 5 hrs 48mins doing over 400 mph.

Perhaps you are right...about the drive...n ot the wife. She would be coming with. I didnt realize how far south you guys are. I could make it to cali in 8 to 9 hours...but not the sonics you are going to be at. My bad

I stopped by Sonic a little earlier today just to check things out and inform the manager of our get together on the 14th. It’s a good thing I did because the assistant manager informed me that if hadn’t spoken to management beforehand; they would have called the police on us. Apparently during the off years we haven’t been there as a group there has been several rowdy car clubs that have caused them to eliminate any and all car club gatherings. Drinking, drugs, fights, loud music, burnouts, and even weapons were being brandished on a regular basis.

She admitted to missing the ‘good’ car clubs because their cars always brought in people off the street to check things out and ultimately purchase something to eat. I informed her that we had met there on a regular basis a few years ago and that there was no need to worry about people in our group becoming unruly. It took some talking but I eventually convinced her to give us a shot. There are stipulations of course, and they are as follows:

We cant park in the stalls as she wants these open for customer that might come in. No worries as this is the same thing we agreed to when we met there a few years ago.

We can use all of the parking spaces in the Sonic lot that run parallel to Lemon and any overflow will need to park in the Food 4 Less parking lot. Again, this is the exact same arrangement we had a couple years ago.

…and it goes without saying, but I will say it anyway. NO Drinking of alcoholic beverage, illegal drugs, fights, loud music, burnouts, or weapons of any kind.

So as of this afternoon we are good to go for the 14th.

I am taking the core program wich cover the entire car from basic engine repair to driveability and emissions, to Hot Rod which you basically take a 350 small block and build it from the ground up and Dyno it if you make 350HP you get to play with NOS. then I will be taking the ford FACT program wich is really heavy electrical based. Then i will plan to apply for Porche or Mercedez, BMW, they scout people and pay their toution based on grades attendance and qualifications so hopefully with FACT I will be bumped up and get picked since they all are heavy electrical ran cars. I might even take smog to. since CA is notorious for smog and soon everything will have to be smogged..lol

for high perfomance, I believe you get that with the core programn they even have a street legal class. that you play with turbo's(Cobalt,SRT 4) and superchangers(GTO,mustangs)

Being completely honset I had no idea there was an event going on tomorrow. I believe its an open shop the first sat of evert month. its when we get to take are cars in and work on em in the lab areas. They might be having some dyno demonstration.. of "Big Bertha" wow... thats an experience...lol.. I'll get some info on it and get back to you tonight. I didnt have planned to go. but I might just go for the heck of it. What time did you have planned on being their?

When you use the term "NOS" it makes you look clueless. NOS is a brand name, "Nitrous Oxide Systems", and they paid substantial money for ridiculous exposure in a certain movie. By using the term "NOS", it appears that your automotive performance education came strictly via a technically laughable Hollywood movie strewn with cheesy product promotions.

Nitrous or Nitrous Oxide is the gas that you are using, as an oxidizer to help burn the additional gasoline you also need to put into the motor. Use"giggle gas" (Nitrous Oxide is otherwise known as "laughing gas" by dentists) or even N20 (the chemical designation) is better. Using the term "NOS" is comparable to calling all pistons "Speed Pros", regardless of the brand. As someone who aspires to become an industry insider, a slip like that would end a job interview before it started.

You’re not far off… The last couple of time I went by myself it was a little on the rowdy side.

You are welcome regardless of the condition of your vehicle. Most of these cars are 20+ years old and to expect for anyone car to be in showroom condition is unrealistic. All of our cars have been under construction at some point so no worries.

Again, as long as it’s safe and drivable you’re good to go.

Well I plan on getting there around 3 o’clock to block off some spaces but I figure the official start time will be between 3:30 and 4. Then I figure we will start heading toward the beach just after sundown.

I will be there at sonic at 3 to help out in some way possible
