1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula
Correction, as the man stated below, it's a Firebird.
I just bought this Firebird, 5.0 Tpi with a manual 5 speed. This car was hit while parked on the driver side, differential looks bent. I bought it for the transmission and will keep that. However, the car is not bad, the 305 runs flawlessly, it turns right on and sounds really good. The engine has no shakes, smooth. The interior is not bad. I hate to take it apart. When I bought it today, I told the previous owner I didn't need the pink slip because I would part it out. He said if I wanted it, he would look for it.
I'd take $400 for it once I take the trans out. Let me know if you're interested.

That's not a Trans Am, it's a Firebird Formula. The spoiler and tail lights and the hood give it away.

If you don't have the pink slip the yard won't take the what's left over.

[QUOTE=M3638;5795946]There's a guy who wants the tuned port. If he pulls the tranny and takes my auto out, I'll give him the car. I don't care about the rest if it. Cool car though.[/Q]
is the aforementioned deal for anyone ?

re: 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula
I don't recall Firebirds coming with TPI's unless it was the Formula or Trans Am. The Stock firebirds got a v6 or throttle body V8 but not TPI.
And they didn't have the 140 speedo. Only 120Mph. Unless there was a swap.

I don't know much about Camaro's to the level other people around here know and I know much less about pontiac firebird's or Trans am's. The guy I bought it from knows even less than I do, I could bet he didn't work on it. Phenom-1 says it's a Firebird formula. If I didn't have so many cars at home I would keep it.

I might just take the transmission out and be done with this car. I don't have much time for projects and don't want it to sit there.

Re: 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula
The 305 TPI cars got dual cats when ordered with the 5 speed manual.
G92 I think it was the option.
G92 triggered dual cats, better cam, gears, basically it was "The Street Hot" setup.
You'd get posi 3.23 for automatic cars. 3.42 posi for 5-speed cars AND dual cats.
So you have an original 1991 G92 Formula with the 5-speed. Very desirable "Hot" setup from the factory. 5.0 TPI with 3.42 posi, dual cats and a 5-speed to rock, If you put a 3" Flowmaster 80s series Cat-back exhaust with nice 3" chrome tips with an angle cut on that car to really wake it up, you'll have one of the funnest 3rd gens to drive.
It's unfortunate that you won't be keeping it though.
But this basically seals it as being an Original Formula Firebird.

Re: 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula
I was with ya right up until you said SLP The Flowmaster 3" 80s series has a unique Iconic tone of a rumbling Monster just sitting idling that Roars when you rev it that No other exhaust has and I'll trade that sound and look for the little power boost any other might give me. I'm in love with it personally. Not to say that SLP is bad tho.
I'm just biased in love with this one over here
