Beast seen lurking in Los Alamos....

Hey Dwayne, give us a report on that thing in your garage. Weve got to read the "aftermarket review" board to keep up with you. I was just wondering if you got those new AFR heads yet? Does your dog Charlie sleep outside? Do you lock your garage? Keep in touch, your "friend" Jeff

Just look for the piles of aluminum dust.

Lately I've been cleaning up the Super Ram. The compressor noise is still ringing in my ears.

You should come by this weekend and check it out.

The short block is together and the heads should be done and installed by the 9th. I planned on doing the motor install on the 16th but I couldn't talk my way out of a business trip that weekend and following week. I'm going to have to take some time off just to make the April event.

What intake gaskets do you use on your base?

Also, there are 2 threaded holes inside the plenum box that I can't figure out what they are for. I know where all the vacuum attachments go and I have a plug for the MAT sensor that is relocated to the filter cover. These holes do not go threw to the out side of the box. They are large holes like for a sensor.

I didn't find anything in the instructions about them either.

Acell DFI help desk just returned my call nad recommends 1206's. If I try to match my base to that he said I need to add material to the base because it will get too thin. He said less the a 1/4". Shoot that's no problem.

Those holes are for the EGR casting cleanouts and get plugged. He recommend that while I'm welding and porting I should weld and smooth those plugs as well.

He also said that when they do custom installs they almost always open up the plenum box to match the runners. He even siamesesssss the runners down 2 1/2" from the bottom of the plenum box. I'm not going to go that far but I will be matching hte base to the heads and adding material to the base.

There'll be metal-a-flyin in my garage this weekend!!!!
