what are the symptoms of needing a new control arm bushing? because on the passenger side it makes this annoying metal to metal contact noise, and its a lot rougher hitting pot holes and feels really loose...not to mention very uncomfortable
Just look at them. What exactly are they? They're a blob of rubber with 1 piece of steel tube on the outside and another piece of steel tube through the middle, right? Think about that for a minute: if a thing made like that was to go bad, how would it fail?

The rubber would disintegrate, right? Not too hard to understand or visualize.
Just get up under the car and look at them. It'll be pretty obvious if one is bad.

well your trying to make it seem like im an idiot...or maybe not...but im askin if it would rattle and make a lot of noise and be rough on that side of the vehicle like it is now....i still havent gotten under there to look(mainly because I have nice clothes on and im too lazy to ruin them) but yeah thats what i was wondering, how it would affect the ride quality, i dont want it to sound like i'm flamin you
hey,
When you get under the car, you can try to move the LCA around forwards and backwards. You might feel a bit of play. If you do, you know its either that or the ball joint. The LCA arms should be solid as can be. Best bet, remove the ball joint, remove the linkages, and remove the 2 bolts holding it in, and visually inspect them, if you are unsure, i would go check what the new ones look like, or check a picture out online, its always a good practise to replace if you notice any signs of disintegration. If not, you should be ok!
To the other guy, not everyone has experience, thats why this is a ****ing forum, if you are going to write garbage, **** off
Camaro Boy 123, its nice that you were sticking up for the original poster and all, but like you said this is a forum, a forum thats been around for a long time, just like this topic. This topic was posted 5 years ago! By a guy who hasn't visited these forums for over a year!
