Would anyone be interested in a 10 way externally adjustable front strange strut?
www.strangeengineering.net makes a 10 way externally adjustable rear shock for $60 for mustangs and can be adapted to be used on f-bodies. They also make a 10 way externally adjustable front strut for stangs that they DO NOT make for thirdgen f-bodies. They are local to me and i plan, sometime in the future dont know when, to compare the differences between a mustang strut and a camaro strut. if there is not too huge of a difference between the length of the strut or the spindle mouting holes i feel we have a winner
anyone else interested in such a product?
If there was enough interest and i could help modify one maybe we could get strange to start producing them
If a company did produce struts for that price, I would buy them yesterday. Been kinda holding off since the the Lakewoods are $90/ea for fronts and $40/ea for the rear. Actually my current set-up is treating me right, but hey, new is always better than old.
its not that they are suited for one particular thing. IE drag racing, street use, road racing. It is just a 10 way externally adjustable strut that has a range of trying to handle all three with its adjustability
These are basically just like the popular QA1 stuff you see for sale for both the 4th gen f-bodies and the mustangs. Its just cheaper and 10 way instead of 12 way
Adjustable doesn't mean d*ck without proper calibration for the application. In other words if it is a drag racing strut it will never be a road racing strut no matter how many adjustment settings you slap on it ..... And vice versa.... (assuming you want it to function as well as possible for the given situation and not just get you by). And it isn't unheard of for an adjustable shock or strut to have mostly useless adjustments.... ie. a 5 way adjustable shock that has 4 useless settings and one that is mediocre for the given application.
So I would have to see some results before I would buy. And not drag racing results .
My $.02
