Car: '89 IROC-Z Engine: 305 TPI in stock trim Transmission: T-5 w/ Hurst B/P shifter | Steering linkage components question Thinking about overhauling or just replacing some components in my steering linkage. Car has 77K+ miles on it now and all original steering linkage. Main reason for replacing sime things is I bought a set of aluminum tie rod adjusters - when I had the alignment checked after I bought the car I wanted the shop to put the new tie rod adjusters on and they wouldn't do it - said because the tie rods were old and had surface corrosion they were worried they might pull out of the new adjusters.
So, I'm lookin at new tie rod ends, inner and outer, to start with just so I can feel comfortable using the new adjusters. Any particular manufacturers I should go with? Moog came to mind but I figured I should ask here. Also, while I'm at it, with a car that seems to steer just fine now (has no real problems with the steering) anything else that would be worth changing at this time? Or just don't fix it if it ain't broke??
