ok, ill be drivin along fine, then hit a bump(like a railroad crossing) and my steering will go crazy. my wheels will wobble back and forth about 2". i have to slow down and hold the steering tight to get it to stop. Anyone know what may be causing this???????
Yikes! Are your lugnuts tight on the wheels? I had this happen when I somehow managed to forget to tighten the lugs on one of my wheels after working on the brakes. Does the car turn OK? If you cut the wheel to lock to make a u-turn, does the car feel like it's trying to hop? Hopefully it's just loose lugnuts, but it could be something worse...
I'm having the same problem, and I'm pretty sure it's not the lugnuts, I even went to tire kingdom and had them do a total checkout on my car(which included them removing the front tires), so unless they kept some loose too...
Just to clear things up first, are you saying the wheels wobble in and out about 2" when this happens? Or is the steering wheel turning? There's a huge difference.
If both wheels up front wobble, something is definitely broken in the steering linkages. If only one wheel wobbles, it could be anything from loose lugnuts to failed wheel bearings to a broken spindle (doubt it's that last one). If the steering moves, as in the steering wheel and wheels move as one, it's bump-steer. This is common on lowered cars without a properly corrected suspension geometry. It could also happen if your springs are old and sagging.

my entire car moves.
tire kingdom said my centerlink and idler arm were crushed.
I just wanna make sure that this is all the problem is...
