End Links

I am putting a set of end links on the front of my car at the moment and have a question. How tight do the end links have to be?. Do I tighten them to the last or just enough so that the rubbers on the end links just start to compress.

Thanks.

There is a torque spec for them, I dont have it handy right now.

Try searching for torque and sway bar endlinks

later

17ft-lbs, give or take 1ft-lb, I believe. I usually just keep tightening them though until it doesn't turn too easily anymore.

I think the general thought on this board, if you don't have a torgue wrench, is that you tighten them until the rubber compresses to the same size diameter as the large washer on the end.

Tighten them till the nut contacts the shoulder…. It shouldn’t take much/any force at that point to keep them from backing off, so they don’t have to be that tight at that point
