Uhh.. WTF?!?? THIS is *really* weird...
OK guys, please bear with me, as this might be pretty difficult for me to explain so that it's understandable...
As mentioned in my other thread, I've just installed a set of BMR adjustable LCAs, and during my first real drive afterwards, I experienced a really weird handling issue that I haven't heard anyone else ever mention before...
While traveling down the highway, once I got up to about 60 mph, it felt like the rear end of the car started... "rolling" (for lack of a better term). What I mean by that is that the entire back end felt as though it was traveling in a rotational pattern around the axis of the driveshaft (i.e., if you were to drive behind the car as it was doing this, then judging by the way it felt from the driver's seat, you might have seen the rear of the car traveling in a roughly circular motion starting at an arbitrary point -say 12 o'clock- and then proceeding around the clock face, either clockwise or counter-clockwise - I can't remember, & I was a little bit freaked out by it...)
I'm planning on getting back under the car & making sure that the LCAs are tightened down really well before I go anywhere again, but if anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd sure love to hear 'em...
Now I haven't driven it since that day, I've been waiting to have some time off when I can have someone else verify it from outside the car. Also, the highway that I was on had some fairly deep ruts (& I'm running 245s on the front & 255s on the back), so I'm sure that that played a part - but has anyone else heard of or experienced this?
(Someone tell me that I'm not crazy!!)

Well, I can definitely dbl-check that, but since that & the torque arm are stock, it would surprise me a bit...
But hell, weirder things have happened I suppose...

yeah no doubt when i pulled mine odd it almost had an s curve in it i dont know if someone smacked a curb with the car or what but it had a good bend to it. maybe it rusted through or something? if anything the car should handle better with sfc's it makes the suspension work instead of the body flexing to compensate, which only gets worse over time.

Haven't had time to crawl under there & look at it again yet, but I should be getting the SFCs installed within the next week or so...

But I think that you & I maybe need to make a junkyard run one of these days, see what kinds of treasures we can find (like the seats you scored!) - and while we're there, I'll grab another couple of LCA mounting nuts, & DOUBLE-nut those puppies!!
(And we won't even mention the 'Hey, my car's running crappy - oh wait, these vacuum lines are loose!' incident that SOMEONE had recently...)

I've only put about 20 or 25 miles on the car since adding the LCAs, but if they've added any road noise it's certainly not a noticeable amount, & now that the two "gremlins" that I had have been banished, it seems to ride very much like it did with the stock units. I might have something to add further down the road, but at this point I see no reason not to recommend that you get them..
