700r4 crossmember ?'s

im convertering my 82 z28 from a th350 to a 700r4 and i was gonna buy spohns conversion crossmember with torque arm i was wondering with a 700r4 can you get anymore exhaust clearance buy making your own member i can make one myself im just not shure how it fits in the car so i havnt decided if it would be worth making one or not?
