275/50/16's

Will 275/50/16 tires fit on 8" wide iroc rims or would I be better off with the 255/50/16's. I'm getting some drag radials soon and can get the 275's a bit cheaper, not much of a deffernce though. Just wondering if I could use the extra width of the tire on the stock rim. Thanks

the closest i could find to a 275/50R16 Drag tire would be the Mickey Thompson ET Streets that are 26x11.50x16 but those arent a radial....

Yes, the mickey tompson are what I'm getting. I think they are 167 each from jegs for 255/50/16. A friend of mine said he can get 275's for 160 each, so figured I'd find out what size would be better. Thanks

are you talking about the ET street radials... because the only 16" size i know for them is the 255/50R16's.... there is no 275/50R16.... the only other size in the 16" for the ET street radials i can find is the new 295/50R16..but those arent even out yet...

are you sure your friend isnt mistaking the 275/50R15's as 275/50R16's?

this topic is brought up all the time they just dont get it. they dont make it! i work in a tire shop i see it all day long i think i would know! unless you go 26x11.50x16 but like said earlier its not a radial. the biggest they make is 255/50/16 do a search call whoever you want and they will tell you the same thing. the only reason why they make a 255/50/26 is for the C3 vette i think back in the day. they came 16x9.5 the turbine wheels. and that comes out to a 255. if im wrong someone show me proof. well atleast not yet. and thats what counts Later Daniel

I had never seen that size tire either, but he works at a dealership that does alot of performance work, so they carry alot of drag radials and slicks. Maybe he he made a mistake of the kind of mt. But I'm going with the 255. Thanks for the help.
