I just installed Eibach sportline springs on my 1985 camaro irocz and the front end is sitting higher than stock.The springs have been indexed with the drain holes and the isolators have been used and have been taken out.It stiil is the same.The part number is 4.0138 on the box.The only thing that I can think of now is the wrong springs in the correct part numbered box.Does anyone have any other ideas. thanks, Scott

Are you sure you got them seated in the top pocket? Its fairly easy to get them hung up. I imagine if you tried them with the isolators and withoutthem you would have noticed...

Or as usual, the stock springs were so shot that they sagged ever so nicely. When you installed the new springs, they did lower the car, from what was "stock" ride height. Not 23 year old worn out suspensiion ride height.

Also with new springs it does take a bit of time to let them settle in a bit. So drive it arround and then check back in a few months.

No they did not lower the car.It raised the car.Should the new springs show a noticable drop after the install or does this take some time also. thanks.I also installed new tokico shocks Scott

If its seated properly, thats where the ride height will be.

Are you sure you had stock springs? Were they cut? The pro-kit springs lower the front ~1" +/-. The sportlines its more than that, most of the cars I've seen with those are in the weeds. Probably a 2" drop easy. Whats your fender-tire clearance like? Should be about enough space for your fingers and not much if any more.

.I bought the car brand new.I can fit my 4 fingers and then some between the fender and the tire.Probably 5 fingers

I have the ProKit and its a 1-1.5" front drop. The Sportline is a 2" drop. The Sportlines I think are red and my Pros are black. On the spring itself is # 3801.201 I believe. That is the Pros front #. When they 1st went on, I noticed they looed higher than they do now. They do seat a little after a a few jounces and drives. Also check for the seating in the pocket correctly. I dont remeber if I used the isolators or not....probably did if they were ther stock. Mine sits 26 3/4 in the rear and 27 1/4 in the front. Measured from the ground to the center of the fender arch / lip. Its higher in the front as you see. But look at a stock GTA...same thing. Also keep in mind if you removed the sway bar, lower a-arms or replaced the bushings with poly ones, they can bind it from seating right if they were tightened on without the susension loaded. The tires need 2B on and it needs to have the cars weight on the tires/ground when tightening the sway bar, etc.

have you driven the car yet? or even moved it? If you installed them and just put the car on the ground the front end will sit higher until it moves and settles everything in. Even on stock springs it will do that.
I put a ProKit in my old IROC that had 165K on it and noticed a drop right away, it settled in a little more after a few months.
My current IROC was definitely higher when parked next to the old one.

No I have not moved it yet.I took the front suspension apart again last night and wiil work on it tonight or Friday thanks for the reply Scott

Ok then don't worry about it untill you roll the car a bit like 10 feet or drive it. You'll notice it drop once you do that.

when the suspension is unloaded, or in the air, the suspension will move inward and down.. when you set the car down, the traction of your tires hold the suspension in that position till you move the car.. trust me, the front end of my car has been in the air way too many times.. i usually put a 2x12, with the grain going from side to side, under the front tires to let it slide..

I took the springs out again and I loosened the sway bar and I had the endlinks bushings out.I put the springs back in with everything loose and it dropped the front of the car.thanks for the information Scott o

Yes, or I did not have the springs fully seated in the top and were cocked.not sure but thanks for the reply Scott O

is anybody noticing a big difference when they don't run the isolators? i'd rather not run them if i can get away with just greasing the spring and pocket
