im going to purchase a new set of rear rims, i have 15x8s. im buyinbg 15x10s but dont know what backspacing i need. i read soemwhere 5.5 but i ve also heard 6? thanks
Depends on what brand of rim you intend to use. Many people use Weld rims. You don't get a 6" backspace option. 5.5" works fine and is the most common.

not to hjack your thread but its kinda along the same lines would a 28 X 13.50R15 tire on a 15x10 wheel with a 5.5 backspace have any rubbing issues? will i need the quarter pannel lips rolled and need a bfh?
had 325/50/15s which compare to a 28/13.5 et street. all you really need to do is hammer the inner wheelwell where the lca is. and they will clear. they do stick out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch past the fender.
