Space Saver tires?

Anybody know new TIRES can be gotten from?

My local NTB didn't know....I've got 2 aluminum spare rims, but the tires on them aren't real good.

Re: Space Saver tires?

Depends what you want them for. If you want them as skinnies, the space saver tires are not speed rated and will not pass tech. If you want them just as a spare, they might be available from a dealer.

If you want to use the aluminum rims as skinnies, pick up some 165R15 VW tires as a cheap alternative to proper front runners.

Re: Space Saver tires?

I'm running 275s front...Last thing I would want is skinny front tires. I actually like the car to TURN when I want it to. I've already down the road of "turn the wheel, yet the car goes straight" route. Wasn't fun.

Pretty soon, my 285s are going up front & I'm getting 315s for the rear.

I want an actual spare tire. I've been pushing my luck not having one for awhile on the road.

Re: Space Saver tires?

You could probably find one in a junkyard cheaper than a new one is and have it switched over to the aluminum rim.

Space saver tires are not supposed to wear out. They shouldn't see that kind of mileage.
