4th gen 16 x 8 rims work on my IROC?
i have the possibility of getting an extra set of 16 x 8 stock firebird rims (i now have a 1996 Firebird Formula LT1 T56) and was going to put slicks on the extra set and wanted to know if i could change the slicks onto the IROC for the strip.

16x8 about 40mm offset and i dont know the backspacing. thanks.

I think you have to run spacers or a 4th gen rear in the 3rd gen to get them to fit properly, but I'm not positive. Try a search, I'm sure it's been covered before.

Yes....I think this is asked every 3 days, because people don't SEARCH for their answers.

Spacers or a complete 4th gen rear end.

i dont want to use spacers because of concerns with it being used for slicks and drag racing.

Then you'll need to get some 3rd gen offset wheels. I don't know of anyone off hand that runs spacers for drag racing, but I know people who use spacers for road racing/auto-x regularly.
