Power rack and pinion

Anyone know where I can get a power rack and pinion setup for a 1992 z to work with Spohns LTX swap K-member?

I already searched and there is just more talk than actual info. Some custom fab setups using mustang steering parts but I can just as easily just go to a shop and have them do that. Anything for my setup?

Thanks

Re: Power rack and pinion

you have to obviously make mounting tabs and weld them to the k-member.

the 4th gen R+P unit is commonly used. One of these days i may do it.

Or, buy Racecrafts k-member for the lsx swap with the rack mounts installed and ready to go. they even sell the custom spindles so you can retain your stock steering radius. $$$$$

Re: Power rack and pinion

well my whole purpose for doing this is to get rid of the steering gear so I have clearance for the 1994-1997 F-body procharger kit for the LT1 (it mounts low on the drive side). I am not even sure this is going to make enough room but I guess i am going to have to go to the local race shop and see what they can do for me.

Re: Power rack and pinion

Don't know where you can get a power rack and pinion setup for the ltx swap k-member, but in about 3-6 months I am making a power rack and pinion set up for 3 gen camaro's. The set up will be geared toward road racing applications.

Try Flaming River. I know they make stuff that works with BMR K-members.
