Having custom order wheels made like Ronal R15

I'm in the market for some Ronal R15 wheels but the prices people want is pricey.

Has anyone ever looked into having a wheel machine shop make these or how much it cost to have a shop custom make a set of wheels?

Thx. in advance

You aren't gonna get a one-off, custom made set of wheels, made for under $2000.

Whaddya wanna do? Take a 80lb hunk of 6061-T6 & have CNC'd down to a custom wheel? Just the cost of the material alone will cost you over $2000 & that's nothing compared to the machine time!

When I was a full-time CNC Mill Operator, I looked into doing that. The labor woulda been free, since I was doing it all myself. But just the material cost alone shot the idea down.

^what he said

you might as well just buy the ronal's. custom 1-off wheels are incredibly expensive

I also thought why isn't anyone reproducing the R15 like they have done with the crosslace wheels and are selling for $699-$800.

Check your attitude.....Nobody "jumped your A$$".

I simply explained, with somewhat detail, that custom wheels are NOT going to happen for under $2000. Maybe for $10,000 & that's STILL a maybe.

The repro crosslaces are cast centers, pressed/welded into an already existing outer ring the manufacturer makes, thats why they can be made that cheap.

Find someone to makes cast centers & maybe you could get them done, but good luck convincing a manufacturer to tool up to make some & hope to make their $ back & then some.

If I thought you were a dumb a$$, I'd say so. In fact, now I think you are, since you obviously can't read good.

Sorry I tried to help. I just responded with PERSONAL experience in doing exactly what your asking.

You win, I give up.

Your keyboard Kung-Fu is much stronger than mine.

I would suggest just answering the question without all the questions back at people with question marks.

Simmer down. Stephen answered your questions completely and professionally. He even gave you insight as to why it would be unrealistic. You're the only one being rude here.
