Dont get the rag joint eleminator . They cause steering binding and wear out soon

Thanks for the link, not looking to spend all that money on a shaft.
i looked more into a rag joint eliminator i think all just replace the one i have with a new one. I havent looked into it much but i see these all the time in autoparts stores and are farly cheap like from dorman link:

how do these hold up in a heavy connering force/load?
i would also like to replace the upper portion of the shaft. would some type u-joint work?

In that link, the OP used a 1"DD to 3/4"DD u-joint to replace the upper joint in the shaft.
