Center Cap Removal?

So this is embarrassing for me to ask, but how do you get the center caps off of the rims? It's probably so obvious and when I find out I'm going to smack myself for it but I just can't figure it out.

They are the 16" formula wheels with the WS6 center caps. It looks like they clip on but I'd like to know how to remove them without breaking them.

Press it out from the inside or pry off from the outside. With there age the plastic tabs are going to break no matter how carefull you are.

Re: Center Cap Removal?

So if they break won't they be useless then? I wanted to take them off these old rims and put them on my less beat up rims...

Re: Center Cap Removal?

Mine had metal clips, that did the actual holding of the center caps to the rim.

My center caps have tabs on them, but the metal is was does the real work.

Re: Center Cap Removal?

Thanks for your help. I was able to get them off without breaking a single plastic tab. One of them though had plastic tabs that were already broken off by someone else. Oops.
