Hi guys. I've been getting information from here for years, but never posted before.
I'm wondering if there's a difference in the front or rear control arms between an 87 base model Camaro with a carberated 305/auto trans and an 88 Iroc with a tpi 350/auto trans.
I've had the 87 for awhile and have a good tight suspension with polyurethane bushings and good steering parts and would like to just put everything in the 88 i just got, but I don't want to throw away better parts.
Not true.....82 to mid 83 front a-arms have different size bushings. The steering spindle stops different early to late.
Just for general info. IIRC, the stops are different depending on tire size. Also, while the LCA's are interchangeable, the 1LE version had high durometer bushings (50K while the production bushings are 11K).

As I hear it, there might be some minor differences,
but no significant quality upgrades.
Which is the keeper?
If its the 88, and the parts identified are worn, then
it might be worthwhile to switch stuff from the 87.

Like James C indicated above, the 1LE arms are different too. But it is more of a bushing & steering stop on them difference, than the A-arms themselves.
Either aftermarket or boxed stock ones, are really only the strength differences/improvements that you'll see.
Also since the 4thgen cars retain the 3rdgen style rear suspension. all 93 - 02 camaro and firebird rear control arms will work on 3rdgens. they also have a diffrent bushing design that prevent binding
