Hey guys, The right rear of my IROC sits about one inch lower than the left side. And the right front sits about 1/2 inch lower than the left. I was hoping that it was just a spring issue but after i have replaced springs and shocks front and rear the problem persists. Is there any adjustment that I don't know about? Or should I assume the frame is twisted slightly? If so, would sub frame connecters be the fix? Or do I have bigger problems than that? The underside of the car is in very good shape and I cant find anything bent or broken.

its common for the right rear to be lower, mine is about 3/8 lower. The is no adjustment in stock form.

Actually, mine is like that too...there has to be SOMETHING you can do about it.

Well, I think im just gonna add a thicker coil spring spacer from summit to the right rear spring. It should balance it out but I hope it doesnt add a noticeable stiffness to that side.

Both front and rear lower on the right is NOT a twisted chassis.
I know the front is down 1/2" lower, and the rear is down 1" lower on the same side of the car.

My first questions is have you checked the spring isolators especially the one in the RR for fatigue or even missing?

I would start with that. A RF "OR" a RR isolator weak or missing will cause the other right height to sag because it is now taking more right side weight. 1/2" saag on a heavier front spring is more equivilant to a 1" sag on a rear spring. One or the other has a weak isolator is my strong guess.

Check that and report back, if they are all new and fine, I will give further things to start checking

This will throw the balance of the suspension off just in the seeking of looks- bad idea.
1) You lower your X-weight. Turns left easy, turns right hard. Loose off a corner to the left, tight off a corner to the right.
2) Good under hard braking entrance left then snap loose at steady state, and loose off. Loose under hard braking corner entrance, good steady state and tight off

all in the name of looks. Check what I suggested in the post prior to this.

Yep, Checked both of them when I replaced springs. They look fine but I'm still gonna change 'em. Maybe they didn't appear fatigued when the springs were out and they crush when springs are installed. I'm pretty sure that the prob is in right rear only and when it gets fixed right front will follow. like you said, I don't believe that it is frame fatigue being low on the same side of the car.

Well, I removed both of my rear springs again. I checked the spring isolators and both appear normal. Still can't figure out why my right rear sits an inch low. Everything looks normal and new springs all around.

yeah my 87 TA is the same way..i cut down my springs all evenly and it still sits higher on the drivers rear ab 1/2 to an inch...must just be the weight balance of the car from the factory.

Yea, I didn't ignore your post. I was just hoping that I was missing something. guess not.

I was just thinking what if the seat for the spring down on the axle is bent? I just noticed no one else mentioned it...thought I'd throw the idea out there.

That is how my 84 was, the suspension was just whooped. I assumed it was because there is always someone in the driver seat, not the case with the pass seat.

ive had 3 sets of front springs in my car over the years and now a coilover kit in the front.
ive had 2 sets of rear springs.
my drivers side rear is 1" lower than the passenger side.
its always driven strait at the track, so ive never messed with it.
