Drag Front Suspension Suggestions

Currently only have 90/10 shocks. Wanting to change out to a tubular K member, coilovers, tubular a arms. Car has a alum. headed BBC, mounted with motor plates. Enginge in a similar weight car went 10.5 on motor, and 9.33 on 225 shot, would like to get down to 9.00. So some suggestions for what brand for the above items, and anything that I might be missing or should look at.
TIA

I've heard good things about BMR's stuff. Also, have you worked on/made plans to work on rear suspension, too? Does this car see street use or track only?

Rear suspension is already taken car of with ladder bars, 12 bolt, and coil overs. Car is for the most part a track only car.

Re: Drag Front Suspension Suggestions

I ran a stock style front suspension for years but with drag struts. It's only in the last couple of year that I installed Moroso trick springs in the front of the car.

I have a tubular k-member and a-arms. Spring pockets for coil springs but no motor mounts. I use a front motor plate. I use a bump kit to correct steering geometry and use Koni SPA1 struts. I have some custom made suspension limiters but still allow the suspension full travel.

Other than that, nothing special about the front end. A coilover kit would be nice to reduce a little more weight but I like the amount of spring travel the trick springs offer. When I pull the front wheels, the car bounces once or twice when it comes down and doesn't bottom out unless I let off the throttle too quickly at slower speeds after popping the front up.

Re: Drag Front Suspension Suggestions

With coil-over you really need to go to some sort of braced mount, such as Spohn's set-up. The stock strut towers in these cars just don't handle direct/straight vertical load very well.

If you do go coil-overs, I would highly reccomend not going over a 175lb. Most kits I have seen come with 200# or better springs, even with the 1471 and 8-gallons of fuel out front in my car I am having difficulties with the 10" 175's I have now; even with only 3" of total travel, they almost completely unload during launch, thus meaning they aren't really compressed enough at ride height.

BMR and Racecraft both have great stuff. Most reccomend staying away from AJE, as it's not nearly as "bolt-in" as it should be and will likely need much modification to work properly. It's not really as big of weight savings as most manufacturer's would like you to believe, but it makes a huge difference in room around the engine/compartment for working.

My entire front clip/suspension is custom, but skirts still being legal for outlaw.
