Weld in LCA relocation brackets

So I have some lowering springs, a double adjustable panhard, and UMI LCA's. If I get the weld on UMI relocation brackets can I bolt them all up and then carefully drive to a shop to have them welded? Looking at the picture it appears that it comes with a bolt for the LCA's and a bolt to mount it.

Re: Weld in LCA relocation brackets

No, you can't.

The mounts on the axle will have to be ground clean. And the heat & sparks from welding, could damage the LCAs bushings (or rod ends), so the welder will have to unbolt those anyways.

When he unbolts the LCAs to clean the axle mounts & its just a matter of sliding the LCARBs up in place & welding.

I might as well just spend the extra $15 and get the bolt ons I guess. Probably cost more than that to get them welded on anyways.

Re: Weld in LCA relocation brackets

If you prep the weld area first and put the relocation brackets on, not in the relocation holes but in the stock location then drive to the shop and drop one side down and weld at a time you "could" do it.

Re: Weld in LCA relocation brackets

I bought the weld in ones too but had the entire axle stripped down. The problem is, these have to be mocked up with the whole suspension on the car. A better idea would be to buy some of the bolt in ones uncoated, bolt them in AND weld them on. They are the same apart from an additional brace that runs to the shock mount. Kind of stupid that there are 2 designs as the bolt ins are easily weld in like the dedicated weld ins. The added brace would also stiffen the shock mount area (not that it really needs it but what they hey..it won't hurt). Don't understand why they make 2 versions anyway, just sell the bolts ins as coated and the weld ins the same just not coated....would be cheaper to produce too.
