| Re: cheap way to build a drag ste up. I ran V6 springs in the front for a few years before finally installing some Moroso trick springs. The V6 spring has a lighter spring rate so it will compress more. When you launch, it has more stored energy to lift the car than a stiffer V8 spring.
Rear springs just need to be heavy enough to hold the vehicle up. Too stiff a rear spring and the back end won't squat.
The best way to control weight transfer is with good adjustable shocks. Front struts can be inexpensive 90/10 Lakewood or adjustable Koni SPA1 drag struts. Rear 3 way adjustable set of 50/50 is a good starting point.
Get an adjustable torque arm, tubular LCA and relocation brackets.
Slicks. Lots of HP and all the suspension mods still won't help if you can't get the power to the ground.
