How to

i bought a front end rebuild kit for my 89 formula. wanna know how the hell to get the center link off? any sugjestions to make my job easier would be helpful

A big hammer.

Hit the side of the pitman arm a few times right where the center link goes into the tapered hole. Also hit the idler arm the same way. The center link will pop right out.

I hit the darned thing "many" times with a four-pound sledge without effect, with and without a pickle fork. An air hammer proved useless as well. I popped it off immediately using a puller (Autozone rental). If you're removing the idler arm, swap it out with the center link in place and save yourself some time and effort. Oh, make sure you scribe where/how the idler arm was positioned or you may encounter bump steer.
